Softball Lady ‘Cats finish regular season ranked fifth in Atlantic Region

INDIANAPOLIS – The West Virginia Wesleyan softball team has been ranked fifth in the NCAA Atlantic Regional Rankings, which were released Wednesday.
 
The Lady Bobcats won the Mountain East Conference regular season title and posted an overall record of 33-14-1. WVWC went 31-12 versus Atlantic Region teams.
 
Kutztown was selected as the number one team in the region. The top four teams in the Atlantic Region (Kutztown, Seton Hill, Shippensburg and Bloomsburg) are members of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
 
The Lady Bobcats earned the highest ranking out of all MEC schools. West Liberty (8th) and Davis & Elkins (10th) were also selected to the regional list.
 
West Virginia Wesleyan kicks off the MEC Tournament in Salem, Va., on Friday with a matchup versus Notre Dame (Ohio) at noon.
