Soccer Bucs land five players on Region I team

TENNERTON – Josh Gregory and Dalton Auvil were named to the 2022 WVHSSCA Boys Region I First Team for the Buckhannon-Upshur soccer Bucs.

B-U’s Christian Dowell, Noah Radabaugh and Caleb Haney were named to the Region I Second Team.

Gregory, a senior defender, led the team with seven goals.

The senior Auvil started all 20 games for the Bucs as a keeper and made 136 saves for a 1.87 goals against average. He also posted five shutouts.

Dowell, a sophomore midfielder, played in 18 games and scored three goals and accumulated three assists.

Radabaugh, a junior midfielder, had three goals and four assists in 17 games.

Haney, a senior defender, played in 20 games and recorded three goals and two assists.

Wheeling Park won both won individual awards as Tresz McCloud was named the Region I Player of the Year while Mario Julian was selected as Region I Coach of the Year.
