ATHENS — West Virginia Wesleyan College (3-1-1) recorded its first tie of the 2023 season on the road at Concord University (1-0-2) Wednesday afternoon.

Coming off its big win over nationally ranked University of Charleston last Sunday, the Bobcats used 20 players in an attempt to find the match’s only goal. Bryant Sheffield recorded three saves while serving in the net for a complete game.

Statistics for the two sides resembled the score as evenly matched, with the exception of yellow card fouls (Dillon Rajkovic, Hayden Dodd) of which Wesleyan has accumulated 17 to its opponents’ 8 so far this season.

The Bobcats return to action Sunday when the team hosts California University of Pennsylvania at Cebe Ross Field, Sept. 17 at 1 p.m.
