Shelby Jean Edmond Moreland

On November 13, 2022, while happy and endlessly loved, Shelby Jean Edmond Moreland was next in line to answer God’s call and leave this earthly place. She now soars the heavens experiencing her forever home of peace as God’s humble servant.

She was born August 24, 1937, in Barbour County, WV, a daughter of the late Odbert and Marie Boehm Edmond. On August 29, 1958, she married Kermit D. Moreland who preceded her in death on February 13, 2015. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Kermit D. Moreland, Jr.; two sisters, Kay May and Joy Poling and four brothers, James, Robert, William and Richard Edmond.

Surviving are her daughter, Pam Dutton Moreland of West Milford, WV; two grandsons, Zachary Dutton and Kayla Delaney of Salem, WV and Joshua Moreland of Buckhannon, WV; three great grandsons, Troy Delaney of Buckhannon, Jullian Allman of Weston, WV and Jackson Golden of Salem; two great granddaughters, Lilliana Delaney of Buckhannon and Sassy Golden of Salem; one sister, Sharon Edmond of Philippi, WV and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Moreland was a nurses aid until she had children. She then became a homemaker and the “best mother a child could have.”

Friends will be received Thursday, November 17, 2022, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dennis Estes officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery in Philippi.
