Sam’s Pizza wins fourth-quarter title in men’s golf; will play Hank Ellis Insurance in league championship

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon Country Club Bob Cupp Memorial Golf League wrapped their regular season on Wednesday concluding fourth-quarter play.

Sam’s Pizza earned up the fourth-quarter title with a 21 ½-18 ½ win over First Community Bank with 115 ½ points.

Hank Ellis Insurance took runner-up fourth-quarter honors with 109 ½ points with a 22-18 victory over High Point Construction.

Highland Landscaping had the big week with a 25 ½-14 ½ win over Feola’s Flowers to finish third with 106 ½ points.

In the other match of the week, Lisa Cain Edward Jones won a 24 ½-15 ½ decision over Custom Cabinets.

Chris Brady of Feola’s Flowers earned Low Actual honors with a 33 while Mike Feola of First Community Bank claimed Low Net honors with a 31.

Sam’s Pizza also claimed the first-quarter title and will now face Hank Ellis Insurance, winners of the second and third quarters, for the league championship on Thursday, Sept. 19.
