TENNERTON – Sam’s Pizza defeated Hank Ellis Insurance by a 47 ½-42 ½ score to win the 2024 Buckhannon Country Club Bob Cupp Memorial Golf League championship Thursday evening.
Sam’s Pizza was the first and fourth quarter winners as they advanced to the title match while Hank Ellis Insurance claimed the second and third quarters to advance to the title match.
Lynn Helmick of Sam’s Pizza won Low Net honors in the championship clash with a 79 while John Moss of Sam’s Pizza and Bob Jack of Hank Ellis Insurance owned 83s.
The teams will receive their awards at the League Dinner on Oct. 2 at Zach’s Restaurant at the Links.
