Sally Annette Brake

Sally Annette Brake, 84, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Thursday, December 26, 2019, at Teays Valley Center in Hurricane, W.Va.

She was born December 23, 1935, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Ronald Delos and Hilda Pauline Lewis Hoover.

On September 19, 1958 she married Neil Brake who preceded her in death on December 16, 2015.

She is survived by one daughter, Beth Ann Embrey and husband Larry of Scott Depot, W.Va.; one son, Kevin Neil Brake and wife Dana of North Canton, Ohio; one grandson, Aaron Neil Brake of Raleigh, N.C.; one granddaughter, Sarah Beth Embrey and husband Frank Annie of Charleston, W.Va. and two brothers, Pat Hoover and wife Joyce of Buckhannon and Louie Hoover and wife Dorothy of Sterling, Va.

Mrs. Brake’s grandchildren meant the world to her and she loved watching them grow into successfull adults. She enjoyed the fellowship with her B-UHS Class of 1953 classmates and her weekly breakfast gatherings with her beloved girlfriends.

In honor of her faithful dog Cooper, donations may be made to the Lewis-Upshur County Humane Society.

She was very active in the Buckhannon Community throughout her life. She was homemaker and a member of the Sand Run Baptist Church.

Friends will be received Tuesday, December 31, 2019, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Greg Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon.
