Roscoe Neil Rice

Roscoe Neil Rice, age 92, passed away on May 5, 2023 at The Renaissance Retirement Campus in Olmsted Township. He was born in Eden, WV and was a resident of Olmsted township for the past 6 years, before moving from Berea, where he was a resident for 50 years. Neil worked as a punch press operator for MTD for over 40 years, until retiring in 1996.

He was a Korean War Army Veteran and a member of New Life Wesleyan Church in Columbia Station.

He is survived by his sons David (Andrea) Rice of Inman, SC., Robert Rice of Berea, Brian (Denise) Rice of North Ridgeville, Dale Rice of Berea, daughter Beth Zanick of North Ridgeville, 12 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, brothers John (Dorothy) Rice, Jerry Rice, Garry Rice, Tom (Rita) Rice, Mark Rice, and sister Carolyn (Glenn) Clutler.

Roscoe was preceded in death by his wife Vera Lee Rice (nee Howes), daughter Darlene Kay Rice, brothers James and Mark Rice, parents Icie and James Rice, and sister-in-law Hollie.

A memorial visitation will be on Tuesday, May 9th, 2023 from 5-7pm at Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Rd. North Ridgeville, OH 44039. The family will again receive friends at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel on Friday, May 12, 2023, from 12-1:00 PM — the funeral hour, with Pastor David Jessie officiating. Interment will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park, where the Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to New Life Wesleyan Church at https://www.nlwesleyan.org.
