Rev. Junior B. Harris

Rev. Junior B. Harris, age 89, of Buckhannon, WV, died Thursday, November 21, 2024, at his home, surrounded by loving family. He was born February 3, 1935, in Buckhannon. Mr. Harris was raised by Rev. Charles and Teresa Lower and a son of the late Vecie Lower Snyder and Rev. Dorsey Snyder. On July 1, 1956, he married Grace Elizabeth West, who preceded him in death on May 21, 2021.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. He is survived by one son, Mark Harris and wife Lesia of Weaverville, NC; two daughters, Brenda Helms and husband R.L. of Locust, NC and Nancy Wamsley and husband Mike of Buckhannon, WV; three granddaughters, Anna McAbee and husband Daniel of Spartanburg, SC, Kirston Lavis and husband George of French Creek, WV and Kendra Manning and husband Mark of Buckhannon, WV; one grandson, Austin Wamsley and fiancé Hailey Farnsworth of Buckhannon, WV; two great grandsons, Mason and Nathaniel Lavis of French Creek, WV; one great granddaughter, Scarlett “Baby Grace” Manning of Buckhannon, WV; three brothers, Donald Snyder and wife Jean of Buckhannon, WV, Tom and Randy Harris both of Salem, WV; two sisters, Mary Ruth Campbell of Buckhannon, WV and Charlotte Cooke of Wake Forest, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

Rev. Harris served in the U.S. Army, was a Heavy Equipment Operator and has been a devoted Christian and Pastor for over 59 years. He was an inspiration to not only his own family but to everyone who ever met him.

Friends will be received Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. William “Bill” Lanham and Rev. Dave Bickel officiating. Burial will follow in Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon, WV. Donations in memory of Mr. Harris can be made to the Gideons International at www.gideons.org or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org
