Purlly Joe “Pudd” Simmons, age 81, of Buckhannon, died on Monday, April 29, 2024, at Holbrook Health Care Center.

He was born on February 21, 1943, a son of the late Emmit Jeremiah and Nona Bell Tenney Simmons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Tenney Simmons; daughter, Jenna Simmons; brothers: Donald, Richard, and James Simmons; sisters: Delma Howes, Reta Murphy, and Clarabelle Friend.

He is survived by one son, Joe Simmons; two grandchildren; brother, Sherwood “Woody” Simmons; and two sisters: Junie and Mary McClure; and several nieces and nephews.

At the request of the deceased there will be no services and burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery at Czar, WV. 

Online condolences may be extended to the Simmons family at Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel. The Simmons family has entrusted the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services with funeral arrangements.
