Public invited to hear from city and board of education candidates at forum Monday

The Buckhannon-Upshur Chamber of Commerce and My Buckhannon are teaming up to host a candidate forum at 7 p.m. Monday, March 9 in the Virginia Thomas Law Center for the Performing Arts at West Virginia Wesleyan College.

This event will focus on city candidates — including those for council, mayor and recorder — and Upshur County Board of Education candidates. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

This event will be moderated and is expected to last approximately 90 minutes. In addition to some prepared questions, attendees may submit questions to moderators for consideration. Questions will focus on local issues relevant in the City of Buckhannon and to Upshur County Schools.

Questions may also be submitted in advance by emailing news@mybuckhannon.com.

City and Board of Education candidates are asked to arrive 30 minutes prior to the event (6:30 p.m.) for a briefing on the format.

Please join us 7 p.m. on Monday, March 9, at the WVWC Performing Arts Center. We hope to see you there!
