Phyllis Freese Haislip

Phyllis Freese Haislip, 88, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at The Caring Manor in Buckhannon.

She was born December 29, 1931, in Denver, Colo., a daughter of the late John Amos Draper, Sr., and Georgia Freese Draper.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Grattan Howard Tucker, Jr., and Donald R. Haislip; one brother, John Amos Draper, Jr. and one sister, Carol Matthews.

She is survived by one daughter, Betsy Carolyn Palmer and husband George of Tallahassee, Fla.; one son, Grattan Howard Tucker, III of Roanoke, Va.; three grandchildren, Jaime McDaniel, Grattan Howard Tucker, IV and wife Kristen and Brittney Holt and husband Connor and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Haislip was a Nurse for St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon and a member of the Buckhannon Alliance Church. The family would like to extend a special thanks to to the staff at The Caring Manor and WVU Medicine Hospice.

In honoring Mrs. Haislip’s wishes she will be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held in the Spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the WVU Medicine Hospice.
