Pearl S. Vincent

Pearl S. Vincent, age 93, of Buckhannon, WV, passed away peacefully, Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Harmony of White Oaks in Bridgeport, WV, with her family by her side.

She was born on February 3, 1929, in Baisden, WV, a daughter of the late Leonard and Alice Smith. She was the last surviving sibling of eight children. On April 12, 1947, she married Fonzo Edward Vincent Jr., who preceded her in death in 2013. He was the love of her life.

She is survived by four children, David Vincent and wife Vicki of Buckhannon, Sandra Vincent of Sutton, WV, Sonja Carlson of Knoxville, TN and Nancy Sanders and husband Jim of Mount Clare, WV; eight grandchildren, Brandon Vincent and wife Aimee of Ashburn, VA, Mitchell Vincent and wife Rebecca of Hurricane, WV, Jay Poling of Greensburg, PA, Marc Poling and wife Diane of Seymore, TN, Ben Carlson and wife Jessica of Chattanooga, TN, Lora McCarter and husband Jason of Powell, TN, Bryan Sanders and wife Christie of Anmoore, WV and Jennifer Geibel and husband Greg of Pittsburgh, PA; 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Coming from meager beginnings in the depression era, she became a person of strength and resilience, always working hard and achieving much. She took great pride in her home and family and was a gifted decorator, quilter, seamstress and crafter. She was a member of Sand Run Baptist Church in Excelsior, WV. Most importantly, she gave her heart to Jesus, November 13, 1960. She is now fully healed and in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The family would like to extend thanks to the excellent staff at Harmony of White Oaks, for their compassion and care, beyond words; also, WVU Medicine Hospice and the kind, caring staff of United Hospital Center at 5 South in Bridgeport.

Friends will be received, Thursday, June 9, 2022, from 12 PM to 2 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home in Buckhannon. A funeral service will be held, Thursday at 2 PM at the funeral home with Pastors Greg Miller and Don Butcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park Cemetery in Buckhannon.
