Patty Sue Ward

Patty Sue Ward, 80, of Buckhannon, passed away in the comfort of her home on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.

She was born in Tioga, WV, on May 5, 1942, a daughter of the late Claude Edward and Freda Mae Blankenship Bragg. In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by two children: Donna Lynn Ward and Judy Kay Ward Queen; four sisters: Margaret (Peggy) Thompson, Nancy Bennett, Katie Anderson, and Linda Heflin; and one brother Cam Bragg.

On April 3, 1959, she married John Lloyd Ward from Morgantown who preceded her in death on November 15, 2007. They shared 48 years together.

Forever cherishing Patty’s memory are two children: Kim Burtner and husband, Tim, of Fort Meyers, FL, and Vanessa Smith and husband, Rodney, of Tallmansville, WV; six grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

Her loves in life were her husband and family, followed closely by bingo.

Patty’s request for Cremation has been honored and a Private Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
