Pamela Jean Smith Boggs

Pamela Jean Smith Boggs, 57, of Charleston, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2025, in the comfort of her home under the care of Kanawha Hospice.

She was born in Charleston, WV, on July 27, 1967, the daughter of Burl Junior (B.J.) Smith and Janet Kay Riley Smith who survive. Pam was preceded in death by her brother, Matthew Smith.

Pamela spent her life cultivating a home filled with love and joy. As Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.” This sentiment rang true in Pamela’s life as she wholeheartedly embraced each day with a vibrant spirit.

Forever cherishing their memories of Pam with her parents are three children: Calina Boggs and husband William of Charleston, Carissa Shawver and companion Deontae Mosley of Charleston, and Daniel Boggs of Huntington; four grandchildren: Randy Mullens, Jacob Robbins, Cierra Casto and Gracie Casto; one sister-in-law, Jessica Smith of Lexington, NC; two nephews, Josh Schulte and William Smith; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Beyond her role as a homemaker, Pamela was a woman of diverse interests, each adding depth to her character. She loved cross-stitching, an art that requires patience, precision and creativity. This hobby was reflective of her personality – meticulous, artistic and always engrossed in building something beautiful. Just as she wove threads into a tapestry, she wove love into her family’s lives. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often spending time on her tablet or enjoying the soothing melodies of gospel music. She cherished the small moments, knowing they paint the grand canvas of life.

Pamela’s world revolved around her children and grandchildren, making them the center of her universe. She was more than just a mother and grandmother; she was a friend, a confidante, a pillar of strength and a beacon of love. A Christian by faith, her life was a testament to the virtues of love, kindness and patience.

Friends and family will gather for visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Clutter Funeral and Cremation, located at 21 Elnora Circle in Buckhannon. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Clutter Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Tallman officiating. Following the service, Pam’s wishes for cremation will take effect.
