Monday, May 25, is Memorial Day. All City offices, including the Transfer Station, will be closed. There will be no waste collection.

If your usual collection falls on or after a holiday, it will be delayed by one day. Curbside recycling will follow its normal schedule unless it falls on an observed holiday, in which case it will be collected on the next regularly scheduled Tuesday. If you have questions about the collection, call Buckhannon City Hall at (304) 472-1430.

  • Trash Can Placement: Trash cans must be hidden from public view as much as possible during the week; place them at the curb the night before the collection and return them within 24 hours after the collection.

  • Report Repairs or Concerns: To report issues such as potholes or damaged signs, please call City Hall during business hours to submit a work order or use the Citizen Engagement tool: Report a Concern.
