Obituary Oliver Kelley

Oliver Lee Kelly, 83, of Buckhannon, the Hodgesville community, died Sunday, March 31, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving family and under the care of W.Va. Hospice. 

He was born April 9, 1935, at Polemic Run in Braxton County a son of the late Richard and Sarah Loving Kelly. 

He is survived by his loving wife of sixty precious years, Joyce Carol Fagan Kelly, whom he married on Dec. 25, 1958.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and special friends Burley and Pat Coberly, Ben and Linda Post, Jim and Rosealie Strader and a host of other friends. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters: Erma Coffman, Evelene Mollohan and Alma Coffman.

Oliver was a 1954 graduate of Nicholas County High School in Summersville, W.Va.  He was employed several years as a tractor trailer driver and was known to all his truck driving buddies as “40 Acres.” He accepted the Lord on Feb. 13, 2019. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and most of all building a campfire for friends to enjoy. He had a sense of humor and could always make people laugh.

Friends will be received at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, from noon to 2 p.m. the funeral hour with Pastor Lonnie Strickland and Rick Cottrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park Cemetery.
