Motorcyclist killed after crossing center line on Route 15 in Braxton County

Jeffrey Robertson, 62, of Elkview died after crossing the center line on Route 15 near Gerald Freeman Campground in Braxton County and crashing head-on into another vehicle.

On June 11, 2025, at approximately 1:20 PM, Sgt D.L. Gordon responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle, approximately .2 miles east of Gerald Freeman Campground on Route 15 in Braxton County, West Virginia.

During the investigation, it was determined that a motorcycle being operated by Jeffrey Robertson, 62, of Elkview, WV, was traveling west on Route 15 near the Gerald R. Freeman campground. After traveling left of center, the motorcycle struck another vehicle head-on.

Mr. Robertson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on scene. The operator of the vehicle that was struck was taken to the Braxton Memorial Hospital via ambulance and suffered from minor injuries.

Robertson was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana at the time of the crash.
