Morgantown’s Rich Lewis wins People’s Choice ribbon at Strawberry Festival photo show

The People’s Choice ribbon went to Rich Lewis of Morgantown for his photo entitled “Wrinkles of Time."

BUCKHANNON — The Buckhannon Upshur Camera Club was pleased to participate in the 82nd West Virginia Strawberry Festival. 

Club and area photographers displayed 187 photos to the multitude of guests who attended the festival.  BUCC is grateful to West Virginia Wesleyan College for offering space in the WVWC gymnasium for the photography exhibit. BUCC wishes to thank the Strawberry Festival Board of Directors and all the wonderful folks from near and far who toured the exhibit.

Several hundred ballots were cast for the People’s Choice ribbon. The top vote was awarded to Rich Lewis of Morgantown for his photo entitled “Wrinkles of Time,” a portrait of a bearded man.

Additionally, those who received ribbons were:

  • Youth Second Place: Landon Walker
  • Youth Third Place: Hayden Walker
  • Youth Honorable Mention: Landon Miller, Hayden Walker
  • Youth Founder’s Award: Parker McCann
  • Strawberry Royalty Ribbons: Al Tucker, Sharon Boone, Karl Boone, Bonne Riffle, Reta McCoy, Anthony Ovies

This was an enjoyable event and club members hope to see several of our visitors again next year. Many thanks to folks who purchased photographs and in doing so, support our local photographers.

The Buckhannon Upshur Camera club meets on the fourth Thursday evening of each month at the Innovation Center on Main Street in Buckhannon. The club welcomes new members and guests!
