KERENS – One driver at Elkins Raceway had his eyes locked in on winning the checkered flag. He then found himself in Victory Lane twice Saturday night during an action-packed evening of dirt track racing.

At 17 years old, Mitch Thomas – of Oakland, Maryland – won the feature races for both the Holbrook on the Hill UMP Modifieds class and the Budweiser Dirt Super Late Model class on July 29. This is Thomas’ first career win in the Budweiser Dirt Super Late Model class at Elkins Raceway.

Join Elkins Raceway this Saturday, August 5 for a FASTRAK Crate Late Model Series with $5,000 at stake with regular racing in all other classes. Racing fans are encouraged to bring a bag for the kiddos who will be invited to the front stretch of the track during intermission for a Candy Rush. At the drop of the green flag, children will have a chance to grab as much candy as they can – however, sharing with friends and fellow racing fans is also encouraged!

Weather permitting, pit gates will open Saturday night at 4 p.m. with $35 admission. General admission to the grandstands begins at 5 p.m. with $15 admission. Children aged 11 and under are free in general admission. Hot laps will begin at 7:30 p.m.
