Minneka Faye Skidmore

Minneka Faye Skidmore, age 95, of Buckhannon, WV died Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Mountain Living Assisted Living Home in Belington, WV. She was born April 28, 1929, in Volga, WV, a daughter of the late Herbert and Georgia Virginia Teets Bennett.

On September 9, 1946, she married Elwood Skidmore who preceded her in death on August 15, 1996. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Richard and Athol Duane Bennett and three sisters-in-law, Juanita J. Bennett, Juanita R. Bennett, and Geraldine Laethem.

She is survived by one brother, Herbert Paul Bennett of Boulder, WV; one sister, Beatrice Propst and husband Everett of Buckhannon; three sisters-in-law, Glendelene Jones, Vera Bennett, and Benita Bennett and several nieces and nephews.

For most of her professional career, Faye served as a secretary. She also attended Boulder United Methodist Church. Faye was a member of the Women of the MOOSE Chapter 319 in Buckhannon, Lorentz and Buckhannon CEOs, and Order of Eastern Star Chapter 18 in Buckhannon.

Friends will be received Tuesday, December 31, 2024, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM with Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Boulder, WV.
