Mildred Pearl McCoy

Mildred Pearl McCoy, age 95, of Buckhannon, WV, died Friday, July 22, 2022, at her home.

She was born May 13, 1927, in Taylor County, WV, a daughter of the late Roy Reason and Martha Blankenship Kniceley. On October 8, 1946, she married Glen McCoy who also preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Dennis McCoy; four brothers, Ralph, Olney, Robert “Bob”Kniceley and James Knicley and six sisters, Pauline Mayes, Betty Williams, Elizabeth “Libby” Marsh, Lillian Kniceley, Gerladine Bryant and Mary Kniceley.

She is survived three children, Edward McCoy and wife Mary of Buckhannon, Mary Lou Harper and husband Ernie of Petersburg, WV and Gary McCoy and wife Reta of Buckhannon; three grandsons, Glen McCoy of Buckhannon, Lester Harper of Petersburg and Scott Motto of Normantown, WV; three granddaughters, Christy Cain of Sutton, WV, Heather Grogg of Weston, WV and Leigh Ann Brown of Clarksburg, WV; thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles “Charlie” Kniceley of Jane Lew, WV; special nephew, who she loved like a son B.J. Thomas of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. McCoy was a homemaker and an avid quilter. Her family was her life, and she was very devoted to them. She was a member of the Full Gospel Church.

Friends will be received Tuesday, July 26, 2022, from 11 AM until 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Chad Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Morrison Ridge Church Cemetery in Braxton County, WV.
