Meeting schedule released for revised SYCC board

Sydney Baird earned All-MEC honorable mention as WV Wesleyan finished seventh at the 2026 MEC Women’s Golf Championship. Charleston claimed the team title, while Glenville State’s Elaina Seeley took individual honors.

Buckhannon-Upshur blasted Philip Barbour 6–0 to close the regular season with four wins in five matches. Nicholas Munro scored twice, while Coby Smith delivered a goal and three assists as the Bucs built momentum for the playoffs.

Gwendolyn Rogosky and Chloe Lewis earned All-Conference Second Team honors as Buckhannon-Upshur finished sixth at the Big 10 championships. Missing Isabella Bowers due to illness, the Lady Bucs now turn to the Oct. 24 regional meet.

Mitchell Whitley placed 11th in 17:56.4 at the Big 10 Conference cross-country championships, earning Second Team All-Conference honors. Short-handed Buckhannon-Upshur did not field a team score and heads to regionals next Saturday.

John Richard Ireland, 63, of Buckhannon, WV, died October 15, 2026. He will be remembered for his loving spirit, unique personality and the joy he brought to those who knew him.
