Maxon H. Hyre, age 84, of French Creek, died on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.
He was born on June 29, 1939, in Alexander, WV, a son of the late Archie Forrest Hyre and Isabella Hope Lee Hyre.
On June 13, 1959, he was united in marriage to Irene Sue Elmer Hyre, who survives. Also surviving are one son Mike Hyre and girlfriend Danielle Wood of Elkins, WV; three daughters: Brenda Alderman and husband Ronnie of French Creek, Cheryl Howes and husband Kevin of French Creek, and Sandy Fealy and husband Joe of Ellamore; two brothers: Maurice Hyre and wife Deloris of French Creek and Paul Hyre and companion Carol of Haymarket, VA. Maxon and Irene have a total of 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews that he dearly loved.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one great grandson.
Maxon was a member of the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, being outdoors, and was an avid gardener. He enjoyed spending time with his family and had special memories with each and every one.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 26, 2023, from 12 pm – 2 pm at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be held Sunday, November 26, 2023, at 3 pm at the Bethlehem Cemetery.
