Mary Margaret Smith Godfrey, 87, of Jane Lew, W.Va., died Monday, September 16, 2019, at Crestview Manor in Jane Lew.
She was born April 1, 1932, in Montrose, W.Va., a daughter of the late Minter J. and Viola Allender Smith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Dale Smith; two sisters, Virginia Smith and Olete Winnings and one brother, Scott Smith.
She is survived by one son, Hayward Godfrey of Buckhannon; three daughters, Carolyn Fletcher of Bridgeport, W.Va., Joyce Shoban of Ky. and Elizabeth Crawford of U.S.A.; one sister, Ethel Simons of Buckhannon and one brother, Maynard Smith of Buckhannon.
Mrs. Godfrey was a homemaker. She was a member of the Faith Tabernacle and the Ladies Aide of the church.
Friends will be received Thursday, September 19, 2019 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held noon Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. William Kerns officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery.
