Mary Linda Simons

Mary Linda Simons, 70, of Buckhannon, the Tennerton Community, died Sunday, November 10, 2019, at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. 

She was born on February 20, 1949, in Upshur County, a daughter of the late Carl and Ona Pearl Halpenny Buchanan. 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers: Gaylord “Sonny” Buchanan and John David “J.D.” Buchanan. 

She is survived by her companion and caregiver of 20 years, Uriah Kniest; one son Donald Scott Simons of Buckhannon; one sister Carolyn Sue Bleigh of Weston; one brother Herbert Richard Buchanan of Shinnston; one half brother Donald Paul Halpenny of Shinnston; two nieces: Mary Ann and husband David Goode and Beth Ann and husband Raymond Baugh; and two nephews: Jamie and David Bleigh.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, from 6-8 p.m., at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel. The funeral will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at 2 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Interment will follow in the Heavner Cemetery.
