Mary Elizabeth Ware, 83, of Buckhannon, WV, died Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.
She was born November 24, 1942, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Charles Irons and Iva Mae Galford Nine.
In October 1961, she married Fred Ware, whom she shared over 64 years with.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Sheryl Ware of Buckhannon, Frederick Mitchell Ware and wife Brenda of Clarksburg, WV, Shelley Scott and husband Shawn of Front Royal, VA, and Daniel Ware and wife Jessica of Roanoke, WV; seven grandchildren, Sara Elizabeth, Whitney Lee, and Andrew Burnside, Brandon and Lindsy Ware, and Nathan and Ryan Scott; four great-grandchildren, Rosslyn Burnside and Lucah, Nash, and Charlie Scott; best friend, Beverly Sell; and her beloved dog, Berry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Jack, Charles, and Bud Nine and Catherine Hinkle.
Mrs. Ware was a mother, wife, homemaker, and avid reader. She had a green thumb, enjoyed gardening, and loved her home, family, and pets.
In honoring Mary’s wishes, she will be cremated.
