Marsha Ann Ash

Marsha Ann Ash, 67, of Volga, W.Va., passed away peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, in her home with her family by her side.

She was born Aug. 21, 1951, in Buckhannon, W.Va., a daughter of the late Henry Houston and Lois Strader Dowell. On Nov. 10, 1989, she married Bruce Ash who survives.

She is also survived by one sister, Frances Teets and husband Arthur of Flemington, W.Va.; two sisters-in-law, Linda Hedrick and husband Larry of Lewisburg, W.Va. and Janet Bland of Clarksburg, W.Va.; four brothers-in-law, Doug Ash and wife Ellen of Fairmont, W.Va., Rusty Bates and Tammy of Buckhannon, Tim Ash and wife Maxine of Morgantown, W.Va. and Jason Ash and wife Heather of Clarksburg; several nieces, nephews and cousins and her beloved dog, Addy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one half-sister, Lorene Schibley and two half-brothers, Rolland and Clifford Dowell.

Mrs. Ash graduated from B-UHS with the class of 1969 and worked at Garden Fresh Grocery and then at Holbrook’s Nursing Home until she retired.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to her caregivers, her loving husband Bruce, Carolyn, the Senior Citizens Center, Heather Ash, Frances Teets and special cousins, Susan Post and Robin Chidester and the wonderful support and care of W.Va. Hospice.

In honoring Marsha’s request, she will be cremated with no public visitation.
