Margaret “Aggie” Ann Helms, age 83, of Buckhannon, died on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the Crestview Manor Healthcare Center in Jane Lew. She was born on October 29, 1942, in Montgomery County, Maryland, a daughter of the late Clarence Lewis and Goldie May Malaby Lechlider. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Alan Helms, on February 14, 2003, and her two children, Arthur Lewis Galford and Kristin Alynn Galford.
She is survived by her five grandchildren: Heather and husband Eric “Sugar bottom” Ryan, Christopher Galford and fiancée Kaitlin Grove, Brian Galford, Justin and Adrienne Imbsaufingabritzin, and Brandon and Tessa Rose Imbsaufingabritzin; nine great-grandchildren: Emileigh, Caleb, Chase, Towney, Daniel, Kenley, Odin, Jolene, and Skylynn; one great-great-granddaughter, Renlee; one daughter-in-law, Marlene Radan; and two sisters, Marian Laster and Marlene Kovac.
Margaret was an avid painter. She enjoyed gardening and ATVing, loved her animals, and especially loved her “sugar bottom”.
The family has honored her wishes for cremation, and private family services will be held at a later date.
