Man arrested after search warrant uncovers methamphetamine and other drugs

Jeffrey Clinton Rice Jr. was arrested and jailed after sheriff’s deputies found over two ounces of methamphetamine, other drugs, and paraphernalia during a search at a Buckhannon residence.

On June 19, 2025, the Upshur County Sheriff Deputies executed a search warrant at 43 W. Lincoln Street in Buckhannon, West Virginia, according to a press release.

During the execution of the search warrant, Jeffrey Clinton Rice Jr. was allegedly located inside with various drugs and drug paraphernalia. Deputies seized one orange pill bottle with bags of a white crystal-like substance that was identified as methamphetamine by the defendant, a bag with multiple pieces of a white crystal-like substance also identified as methamphetamine, a bag labeled with trazadone 50mg with approximately 24 white round pills, a bag with one green round pill as well as one half orange pill, U.S. currency, a scale, multiple used blue stamp bags, multiple bags with a green leafy substance, a bag with one piece of paper that is consistent with LSD, and multiple smoking devices.

The three bags with the white crystal-like substance that was identified as methamphetamine by the defendant had an approximate weight of 2.7 ounces. The white, crystal-like substance field tested positive for methamphetamine.

The defendant is currently incarcerated at Tygart Valley Regional Jail for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and marijuana.
