Majestic Mountains Studio marks first year in Buckhannon with ribbon cutting

Majestic Mountains Studio, run by co-owners Tabby Fitzgerald and Tonya Pinegar, marked one year in business in Buckhannon with a ribbon cutting Nov. 4. The photography studio is now booking Christmas mini sessions.

BUCKHANNON – Majestic Mountains Studio, a photography studio on North Kanawha Street, celebrated its first year in business with a ribbon-cutting on Wednesday, Nov. 4.

Tabby Fitzgerald, co-owner of Majestic Mountains Studio, said she decided to start a photography business a year ago, but it wasn’t progressing the way she wanted until Tonya Pinegar joined her as co-owner.

“I was doing it a lot on my own, and I wasn’t getting anywhere,” Fitzgerald said. “Then Tonya, who is actually my neighbor, asked if we could partner up, and it’s blown up from there; she’s helped so much, it’s been insane.”

Pinegar said they work with each other’s strengths, and the business would not run the way it does without either of them.

“I feel like it’s definitely been a team effort because the things that she’s good at, I’m not good at,” Pinegar said. “The things that I’m good at, she’s not good at, so we definitely help each other a lot.”

Their studio can be found at 22 N. Kanawha St. in Buckhannon, where they offer photo services for any occasion.

“Our main thing is photography, and then we started trying to do some event organizing. We like to do some vendor events where we set up and we sell cookies and jewelry,” Pinegar said. “We’re trying to move forward and keep going; we have some ideas in the works for some different seasonal events. Since the Great Jawbone Howl-O-Ween was such a success, I think we’re going to try to do some different seasonal events like that.”

Their most popular offering to date has been their fall-themed family mini sessions, and they are preparing for Christmas minis.

“We have Christmas coming up, and we’re going to offer seasonal photos by appointment. We’re going to have it set up probably until the middle of December,” Fitzgerald said. “Anyone looking to book anything with us can look on our Facebook page and call us or email us, and we’ll get back to you.”

Majestic Mountains Studio also schedules outdoor sessions away from the studio.

“I think the outdoor shoots are our favorite ones; we love doing outdoor stuff,” Pinegar said. “The lighting is better, and the photos turn out great.”

Pinegar asked the community to follow their Facebook page to stay informed about upcoming events.

“We definitely want people to follow along on our page because we do have a winter event that we’re planning on getting up and coming here real soon,” Pinegar said. “We’ll be posting new information about that soon.”
