Madie Virginia Hamner, 91, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Friday, June 4, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.
She was born October 22, 1929, in Upshur County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Glen and Lillie Rachel Miller Black.
On August 6, 1951, she married Lawrence Hamner who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Janet Kirkendoll of Oklahoma and Debra Crockett of Buckhannon; three grandsons, Jason and Jeff Reed and Jimmy Embrey; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Tom and Gene Black both of Buckhannon; three sisters, Lena Keller, Mary Tenney and Shirley Parker and husband Johnny of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, James Crockett and one brother. Bill Black. Mrs. Hamner was a homemaker and a Christian by faith.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2021, in the Elbon Cemetery at Sago, W.Va., with the Rev. Wease L. Day officiating.
