Lytle Lee Batten

It is with profound sadness the family of Lytle Lee Batten, age 83, of Fayette Street in Buckhannon, announce his peaceful passing at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital on April 21, 2022 with the love of his family surrounding him. 

Lytle was born on January 10, 1939, in Linn, WV, a son of the late Foster Clay and Beulah Pauline Radcliff Batten.  On May 20, 1960, he was united in marriage to Olive Fonda Montgomery Batten, who survives.  Also surviving are their children:  Fonda Holehouse and her children:  Jameson (Teri) Holehouse (and their children:  Telyn, Demi, and Paul Holehouse), Olivia Holehouse and Christian Holehouse; Vonda (Mike) Allman and their children:  Adrienne (Steve) McVey (and their daughter Adelaide McVey) and Zachary (Wendy) Allman (and their children:  Mia and Kathyrn Allman); Lytle Batten, II, and his children:  Whitney Louden (and her children:  Andrew Rollyson, Isabella Haas, Hudson and Sawyer Louden) and Ashley Batten; Melissa (Keone) Bolosan; one daughter-in-law Dawn Batten and her children:  Brenan, Logan (Christina) and Andi Lee Batten; three brothers:  Fred, Ronnie, and Gary Batten; one sister Marsha Skolnik; and many nieces and nephews.  

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son Andrew Batten; two brothers:  Eugene and Warner Batten; and one sister Macel Carr.

Mr. Batten retired from Columbia Gas Company with 40 years of service.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be forever remembered.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 24, 2022, from 2-4:00 PM, at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel.  The funeral will be held on Monday, April 25, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at the funeral chapel, with Pastor Mike Allman officiating.  Private interment will be in the Conrad Cemetery at Sand Fork, WV.
