Lois M. Lake

Lois M. Lake, age 80, of Buckhannon, WV, passed away at United Hospital Center on February 24, 2023.

She was born January 17, 1943, in Upshur County, a daughter of the late Osborn G and Addie M Wilson Carpenter. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her former husband Kyle G. Sayre, one son Kyle Neil Sayre, two brothers: Goff Carpenter and Glen Carpenter; one sister Annabelle Hawkins.

Lois will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 33 years, Gary Lake. She is also survived by her two loving daughters, Jane (Sayre) Rockey and husband Bill of Buckhannon, WV and Beverly (Sayre) Metz and husband Mickey of Weston, WV; three loving grandchildren: Beth (Rockey) Cordova and husband Jason, Crystal (Metz) Wagner and husband Jeremy, Seth Rockey and wife Jamie; four great grandchildren: Lunden, Zaylee, Kinlee, and Harper; one brother Charles Carpenter of Buckhannon and one sister Shirley Spreacker of Buckhannon.

Lois graduated from Buckhannon Upshur High School class of 1960. She retired from the Department of Water Resources after 21 years as the water resources executive secretary.

Friends and family will be received at Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, March 1,2023, from 11 AM-1:00 PM the funeral hour with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Dale Cemetery.
