Lois Louise Corder

Lois Louise Corder, 87, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Monday, Dec. 31, 2018 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, W.Va.

She was born June 21, 1931, in Upshur County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Eli Hugh and Iona Kidd Ours. On May 30, 1947, she married Piatt Bryan Corder, Jr. who preceded her in death on April 20, 2016.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Helen Marie Shields; one sister, Ann Ours Kriner and six brothers, Jack, Claude, Ernest, Ralph, Scott and Edward Ours and her beloved dog, Luna.

She is survived by two daughters, Teresa “Terry” Beer Loudin of French Creek, W.Va. and Connie Corder of Buckhannon; two sons, Roger Bryan Corder and wife Cynthia of Elkins, W.Va. and Timothy Michael Corder of Buckhannon; five granddaughters, Kristin Satterfield and husband Stephen of Vienna, Va., Amanda Renee Woody and husband Scott of French Creek, W.Va., Casey Casto and husband Aaron of Elkins, W.Va., Tiffany Martin Belasco and husband Tyler of Orlando, Fla. and Missy Martin of Buckhannon; two grandsons, Bryan Beihl Corder of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Billy Shields of Glenville, W.Va.; three great-granddaughters, Kyrie Woody of French Creek, Audrey Cynthia Satterfield of Vienna and Ellie Kristin Casto of Elkins; four great-grandsons, Scotty Woody of French Creek, Samuel Jeffrey Satterfield of Vienna, Joel Christopher Casto of Elkins and Silas Bryan Satterfield of Vienna; one sister, Ona Irene Stemple and husband Terry of Harvest, Ala. and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Corder was a member of the Heaston United Methodist Church and the Methodist Women’s Chapter. She was a caregiver to her ”special” grandson since 1997. Mrs. Corder loved to garden, cook and most of all taking care of her family. She was a secretary for Corder’s Gulf/Chevron.

Friends will be received Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held noon at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens at Mt. Claire, W.Va.
