The Garden Therapy Committee of the Fred Brooks Garden Club met three times to plan and prepare Christmas wreaths for the third floor residents of WVU St. Joseph’s Hospital.

To get the wreaths ready for the residents to finish, the committee members attached some artificial decorations such as poinsettias, holly branches, bows and a hook for hanging on the doors of the resident’s rooms. Garden club members who assisted in the preparations were Jane Godwin, Vonnie Hager, Ann Ludlow, Millie Hornbeck, Sharon Evans and Sandra McCutcheon.

On Tuesday, December 3, Linda Debarr, Vonnie Hager, Ann Ludlow, Sandra McCutcheon, and Patty McComas assisted 10 third floor residents to choose and complete the decorating of a wreath. Junior Volunteers of WVU St. Joseph’s Hospital, Tori Adams and Emily Adams, assisted these ladies.

Emily played the piano for the group who also sang Christmas songs, and then played Bingo. Everyone was given homemade fudge. The volunteers helped the residents place their wreaths on their room doors. All had a good time and were ready to begin the season with the Christmas spirit.
