Linda Colleen Wimer Claypoole

Linda Colleen Wimer Claypoole, 62, of Ireland, entered God’s Heavenly Gate on Friday, June 11, 2021. She passed in the comfort of her home and following an extended illness.

She was born in Sutton on May 12, 1959, a daughter of the late Lawrence Edward and Wanda Ware Wimer. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by one infant sister, Cindy Lou Wimer; one grandson, Keiran Ray Claypoole; and one nephew, Lawrence “Bubby” Wimer.

Left to cherish their memories of Linda are her husband, Jerry Claypoole of Ireland; two sons: Jeremy Claypoole of Ireland, and Jamie E. Claypoole and wife, Sherri, of Colorado Springs, CO; three grandsons: Jimmy McFarland, Edward Claypoole, and Jamie L. Claypoole; one great-granddaughter, Gracie Smith; three brothers: Lawrence “Mack” Wimer and wife, Anita, and Matthew Wimer both of Ireland, and Michael Wimer and wife, Anna Mae, of Walkersville; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Linda was given the name “Sunshine” or “Aunt Sunshine” because she could light up a room with her smile. If you knew Sunshine, you loved her. You also never saw her without a smile on her face. After graduating from Braxton County High School in 1976, Sunshine was employed at various places including Lewis County Emergency Squad and Louie Glass. She spent several years as an in-home caregiver and operated her father’s restaurant “Sunshine’s Restaurant” in Ireland. Sunshine was a former member of Fall Run United Methodist Church and enjoyed crocheting afghans to give to her family and friends as gifts. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Sunshine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and will be truly missed by her family and friends; However, she will be especially missed by her great-granddaughter, Gracie. Sunshine loved Gracie with all her heart and lovingly gave Gracie the nickname of “Blue Eyes”.
