Lela Rose Coberly

Lela Rose Coberly, age 79, of Buckhannon went to be with the Lord and her husband in Heaven on Friday, December 23, 2022, at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. 

She was born September 7, 1943, in Upshur County a daughter of the late Willard and Edith Strader Cutright and was raised by her grandmother, Rosie Strader. She was united in marriage on January 19, 1962, to Monzo B. Coberly who preceded her in death on April 13, 2007. 

She is survived by two daughters: Vickie Coberly of Buckhannon and Beverly Claypool and husband Matthew; two sons: Rick Coberly and wife Nancy of Buckhannon and Michael Coberly and wife Kathy of Athens, Alabama; four grandchildren:  Christina and Brett Woodson, Tyler and Brittany Coberly, Corey Coberly and Sabrina Clark, Joshua Coberly;  great grandchildren: Marshal, Jayden and Sophia Nottingham, Alyssa and Emily Claypool, and Benjamin Woodson; three brothers:  Woody and Marg Cutright and Kenny and Donna Cutright of Ohio, Donald Gene and Patty Cutright of Florida; four sisters:  Fay Jane and Butch of Ohio, Mary and Creed Fletcher of Buckhannon, Debbie and Frank Friend of Ohio, Carolyn Cutright of Ohio; sister-in-law Rena Smith; several nieces and nephews survive and her little dog Skippy. 

Lela was the best loving mother and granny.   She had a heart of gold and raised four different generations of Coberly’s.  She was one of the best cooks and an angel to all who loved her.  Lela was a Christian by faith. 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Pastor Dwayne Brown and also to the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care.

Friends will be received at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel on Monday, December 26, 2022, from 4-6 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Dwayne Brown officiating.  Interment will follow in the Lanham Cemetery at Queens.
