CHARLESTON, W.Va. — There will be intermittent, complete lane closures on southbound Interstate 79 at the West Virginia/Pennsylvania state line (mile marker 160), between the hours of 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2026, and 6 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2026, to allow for the placement of steel beams on the Wade’s Run Bridge.

Southbound travelers can get off I-79 at Mount Morris, Pennsylvania (Exit 1), head south on US 19 and get back on I-79 at Star City, West Virginia (Exit 155).

With work continuing in all 55 counties across the state, the West Virginia Division of Highways and the West Virginia Department of Transportation remind the public of the importance of keeping everyone safe in work zones. “Safe actions save lives!”

Buckhannon plans water main work during Route 20 closure as other utility projects advance
