Kirk Doris Cutright

Kirk Doris Cutright, age 81, of the Alexander Road, French Creek, WV, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023. 

He was born November 12, 1941, in Czar, WV, son of the late Lawrence (Tuck) and Vera Bell Depoy Cutright.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant sons Robert Lynn and Gary Wayne Cutright, sisters Monna Lewis and Gloria Kittle and ex-wife Myrtle (Wilfong) Ogden.

He is survived by three children:  Beverly (Rodney) Waugaman of Buckhannon, Nicky (Charles) Smith of French Creek and Randall (Rosemary) Cutright of Buckhannon.  Also surviving are grandchildren Dalton Waugaman, Nathan and Wesley Smith, Deena and Joshua Cutright, great-grandchildren Elijah and Brayson, sister Audamaree Moore of French Creek, brothers John and Delmar (Carol) Cutright of French Creek and Virgil (Cindy) Cutright of Painesville, OH. 

Kirk was a peaceful man with a strong work ethic and a kind heart.  He worked many jobs, including timber cutter, “blasting-man” at DLM Coal Corporation and laborer for many other positions.  He was a man of dignity and honor.  His love for family and his determination to keep that close bond throughout life’s turmoil was un-wavered and admired not only by his children and grandchildren, but by anyone who saw his determination and dedication to his friends and family. 

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 8, 2023, from 4-6 PM at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the funeral chapel with Rev. Jim Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Czar, WV.
