Kathleen Poling

Kathleen Poling, 88, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.

She was born December 31, 1931, in Upshur County, W.Va., a daughter of the late George Washington and Katie Hawkins Jack.

On May 16, 1954, she married Elmer Alexander Poling who preceded her in death on February 5, 1985.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by six brothers, William, Stuart, Ralph, Dayne, Hubert and Francis Jack and three sisters, Hepsey Jack, Ruth Spatzer and Mable Burr.

She is survived by one son, Thomas Poling of Buckhannon; three nephews, Blaine Jack, and Billy Jack and wife Michelle both of Buckhannon and Edward Jack and wife Wanda of Philippi, W.Va.; two nieces, Helen Lantz and husband Scott of Buckhannon and Cathy McVicker and husband Mac of Philippi and numerous other family and friends.

Mrs. Poling was a homemaker and a member of the Sand Run Baptist Church. She loved to garden, loved animals. She’d always read the bible when she could.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Sand Run Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Greg Miller officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
