JV Bucs fall behind early and tumble to Parkersburg, 72-40

PARKERSBURG – The Buckhannon-Upshur junior varsity Bucs fell behind by a big margin in the first quarter and were never able to recover in a 72-40 road loss to Parkersburg Wednesday evening.

The Bucs trailed by a 27-8 margin after one quarter and was behind by a 44-21 margin at the break.

Buckhannon-Upshur managed just five points in the third quarter and was behind by a 62-26 score heading into the final stanza.

The Bucs won the fourth quarter by a 14-10 margin.

Nathaniel Ringer led the Bucs with 11 points while Jaden Westfall had eight points and Jonas Barton added seven.

The loss dropped the Bucs to 2-4 on the season.

They will be back in action Monday hosting Hampshire at 5:45 p.m.
