Joseph Wayne Smith, age 56, of Buckhannon, WV, died Friday, January 17, 2025, at his home. He was born February 21, 1968, in Buckhannon, a son of Rena Coberly Smith of Buckhannon and the late James Orval Smith.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Allen Smith. In addition to his mother, he is survived by four sisters, Sharon Short and husband Bartley, Karen Belt and husband James, and Debbie Smith and companion Rick Cutright all of Buckhannon, and Darlene Hall and husband Scott of Weston, WV, and several nieces and nephews.
Joseph worked as a coal miner and for Rocky Road Paving. Friends will be received Friday, January 24, 2025, from 12 Noon until 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery in Buckhannon.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
