John Joseph Wasowicz, Jr., 76, of Rock Cave, W.Va. died Monday, March 23, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon, W.Va.

He was born June 6, 1943 in New Jersey, a son of the late John Joseph and Elizabeth Wasowicz.

Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Edith A. Voznek of Rock Cave; one brother, Victor Wasowicz of NJ; one stepdaughter, Edith Haviland; two stepsons, Frank and Laszio Voznek and best friends, Lee Roy and Jane of Rock Cave.

Mr. Wasowicz, Jr. served in the U.S. Marines and was a member of the White House Guards. He had the honor and privilege to be a part of the 21-gun salute for President John F. Kennedy’s funeral service.

A private service will be held for Mr. Wasowicz Jr.
