JoDell Swisher

JoDell Swisher, 60, of Buckhannon, slipped gently into the arms of the Lord on Thursday, June 8, 2023. She passed surrounded by loving family at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.

She was born in Buckhannon on November 22, 1962, a daughter of the late Charles Richard Scott and Anna Marie Smith Scott. In addition to her parents, JoDell was preceded in death by one sister-in-law, Doris Swisher.

On March 1, 1980, JoDell married the love of her life, Arthur Lee Swisher Jr. Together they shared the joys of marriage and raising their two children for 43 years.

Forever cherishing their memories of JoDell are her husband, Arthur Swisher Jr. of Buckhannon; two children: Darlene Hill and fiancé, Chet McCormick, of Volga, and Arthur Swisher III and wife, Samantha, of Buckhannon; seven grandchildren: Elaina, Hunter, Andrew, Jacob, Brittany, Levi, and Cameron; one great-grandchild, Raelynn; three sisters: Charlotte Smith and husband, David, Donna Eckes and husband, Jim, and Mary Norris and husband, Frank, all of Buckhannon; one brother, Richard Scott and wife, Anna, of Florida; two special nieces: Brandi Swisher and fiancé, Ed, and Ashley Bennett; one special nephew, Shane Swisher; one special great-niece, Trinity Bennett: and several additional nieces and nephews.

JoDell was Christian by faith. She spent several years employed as a Nurse’s Aide at Holbrook’s Nursing Home before retiring. JoDell enjoyed reading books and solving jig-saw puzzles. More than anything, JoDell treasured her time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

JoDell’s request for Cremation has been honored. A Private Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

We, at Clutter Funeral and Cremation, are honored and privileged to serve the family of JoDell Swisher. Online condolences may be expressed at www.ClutterFuneralHome.com.
