CHARLESTON, W.Va. — West Virginians looking for work can meet employers from home Wednesday, October 7, when WorkForce West Virginia holds its next statewide virtual job fair from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
Job seekers and employers both must sign up ahead of time. Job seekers can register here, and employers can register here.
The agency advises job seekers to dress professionally and to join from a quiet, uncluttered spot. The fair’s online portal offers a training video for job seekers and a list of the employers taking part.
Employers signing up for the first time build a virtual booth to meet candidates, and that booth carries over to later fairs.
“Since these Statewide Virtual Job Fairs began three years ago, the Virtual Job Fair has had 41,989 registered job seekers, 5,754 registered employers and 17,999 available job openings,” said Scott Adkins, acting commissioner of WorkForce West Virginia.
Last month’s fair had 945 job seekers and 105 employers signed up, with 823 openings listed, according to Adkins.
The October event is the latest in the agency’s series of online fairs, which began three years ago.
