Jerry Lynn Dunlavy

Jerry Lynn Dunlavy, 56, of French Creek, died Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at the J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. 

He was born on October 11, 1964, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Jerry Lee Dunlavy and Barbara Robinson Nelson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister Terry Burr, her lifelong companion Mike Dunlap, and a nephew Dustin Burr. 

He is survived by three daughters:  Shelby and husband Kaleb Jones of Pickens, Ashley and husband Russell Rowan of Buckhannon, and Samantha Dunlavy of Weston; three sons:  Dakota Dunlavy of French Creek, Daniel Dunlavy of Buckhannon, and Jerry Dunlavy of French Creek; ten grandchildren:  Addison Jones, Barrett Jones, Owen Mark Jones, II, Layla and Isabella Dunlavy, Kaylee, Tristin, and Cecily O’Connor, Trapper Sprouse, and Logan Howell; and special lifelong friends:  Lance Bunner, Leon Powers, Frank Burr, Andy Anderegg, Mike Page, and Johnny Gum. 

Jerry worked for Wendling’s Food Service for many years and enjoyed camping, fishing, spending time in the outdoors, and was an avid classic car enthusiast. Most of all, he loved his family dearly.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel from 4-6 p.m. A funeral service will begin at 6 p.m., with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Following the services, the body will be cremated and a private interment will be held at a later date.
