Jamie Wilson to lead behavioral health at Barbour Community Health Association

Jamie Wilson succeeds Dr. Aaron Williams as Barbour Community Health Association’s chief behavioral health officer. Williams, who has held the role since 2017, will focus on patient care.

Jamie Wilson is succeeding Dr. Aaron Williams as chief behavioral health officer at Barbour Community Health Association (BCHA). Williams, who has held the job since 2017, is leaving administration to focus on patient care.

Before the promotion, Wilson directed BCHA’s school-based behavioral health program. She began working for the association in 2018 as a licensed professional counselor, according to its November 4 release.

“My primary goal in this role is to support our staff in providing high-quality, compassionate care to the residents of Barbour County and the surrounding region. When we invest in the people providing care, our patients ultimately benefit,” Wilson said in the release.

As chief behavioral health officer, Wilson will run the department and supervise its staff.

BCHA credits Williams with expanding its behavioral health program, including the 2024 opening of Barbour Behavioral Health in Belington. The association says the facility, at 70 N. Sturmer St., made services easier for patients to access.

“I appreciate the opportunity to have helped develop the Behavioral Health program over the past decade. Now, I look forward to watching Jamie’s leadership take the department into its next chapter,” Williams said in the release.
