Ivan Gregory Tenney, age 68, of Clarksburg, WV, died Sunday, July 5, 2026, at River Oaks Nursing Care Facility in Clarksburg.
He was born October 12, 1957, in Cowen, WV, a son of the late Clayton and Janice Gooden Tenney. On October 24, 2004, he married Lois Currence, who survives.
He is also survived by one son, Eric Tenney of VA; four stepchildren; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four siblings; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers.
Mr. Tenney served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1972 to 1978. He was a roofer for over 10 years before moving on to work for Fisher’s Auto Parts in Buckhannon, WV, and then NAPA Auto Parts in Weston, WV.
Mr. Tenney was an avid NASCAR fan and formerly owned the NASCAR shop in Tennerton, WV.
Friends will be received Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 12 noon Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Holly Hoover officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Church Cemetery in Hemlock, WV. The Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the graveside.
