Ireta Belle Hoover Davis

Ireta Belle Hoover Davis, 90, of Pelzer, S.C., wife of the late Marvin Douglas Davis, Sr., passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019.

She was born in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Cecil and Nellie Hoover. She retired from BiLo in Pelzer, S.C. as a manager in the Bakery/Deli Department and was a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son, Tommy and wife Michelle Markham Davis of Pelzer, S.C.; brother, Rev. Holly Hoover and wife Wanda of Buckhannon; sister Evalena Palmer of Holts Summit, Mo.; grandchildren, Crystal Hale and Amber Miller; great-grandchild, Sawyer Hale all of Simpsonville.

In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Douglas “Skeeter” Davis, Jr., four brothers: Odbert, Elondis, Dencil and Donford and two sisters: Leota Tenney and Luellen Morgan.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Oak Hill United Methodist Church in Pelzer, S.C. with the service to follow at 2 p.m. Visitation will also be held, Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019, in Hemlock, W.Va., from 10 to 11 a.m. at Mount Olive Methodist Church with the service to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Hill United Methodist Church, 430 Oak Hill Road, Belton, SC 29627.
